The insurance team is headed by Sachpal and Ms Siti Naim who have vast experience in insurance litigation, arbitration advisory and claims assistance.
Our team has appeared as counsel at all levels of court. We regularly also give talks on various aspects of insurance litigation and claims.
The firm specialises In Insurance Law which includes insurance claims including motor and non-motor claims, Repudiation of policies, seeking declarations on various aspects of the law, Reinsurance, Takaful and the servicing of Insurance companies in various aspects of the law and advisory.
The liberalisation of the Malaysian financial sector which includes insurance would see more licenses issued by Bank Negara to foreign insurance players. Foreigners will also be allowed to own up to 70% equity in insurance companies.The firm with its vast resources and experience is able to assist any foreign partner in a Malaysian insurance company.

The motor portfolio is spearheaded by Ms Tamilarasi and Ms Norhidayu. Our motor insurance litigation team is very experienced in handling high value and complex claims at both the trial and appellate levels.
We act for both local and foreign insurers . We handle claims across Malaysia as well as advisory services for claims arising in Singapore wherein our partner Mr. Sachpal has maintained an advisory role.

Maritime and Other classes of Insurance
Our Partner Ms Siti Naim is well regarded in the shipping and maritime industry and has a Master’s Degree in Law by MARA University of Technology, Malaysia.
She is well versed in all aspects of maritime and shipping law including insurance claims and litigation supplementing her core practice of advising in Government contracts, being directly involved in the negotiation, finalization and implementation of various agreements .
She has more than 30 years of post-graduate working experience. She has delivered various seminars and courses on contract management and maritime law to clients and the firm’s in-house programmes.
Siti Naim was also part of the Boustead Heavy Industries Group’s Core Management Team and Policy Making Committee. She is a registered adjudicator since 2017.
